My husband liked it very much. Yesterday he asked me to make the same preparation as there was tender jackfruit at home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since I had watched our Sri Lankan host while cooking at her house, I have a basic idea of Sri Lankan cooking. So I ventured to prepare it, with some trepidation. And I was so happy when I got a five star rating from my better half!<\/p>\n<pre><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-494 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/JK3-1.jpg?resize=474%2C293&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/JK3-1.jpg?w=1151&amp;ssl=1 1151w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/JK3-1.jpg?resize=300%2C186&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/JK3-1.jpg?resize=1024%2C633&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/JK3-1.jpg?w=948&amp;ssl=1 948w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/pre>\n<h2>Ingredients:<\/h2>\n<p>2 cups of skinned, pressure cooked (for 4 minutes), and shredded tender jackfruit<br \/>\n1 large onion thinly sliced<br \/>\n1 twig of curry leaves<br \/>\n2 dried red chillies, broken into two<br \/>\n2 tbsps of mustard oil<br \/>\n1 bay leaf<br \/>\n\u00bd tsp cumin<br \/>\n\u00bd tsp fenugreek seeds<br \/>\n\u00bc tsp crushed pepper<br \/>\n\u00bc tsp red chilli powder<br \/>\nSalt to taste<\/p>\n<h2>Instruction:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat the oil, when it starts smoking, add the bay leaf, jeera, fenugreek seeds, and crushed pepper<\/li>\n<li>Add the sliced onion and curry leaves, reduce the flame and keep stirring.<\/li>\n<li>When the onion lightly browns, add the shredded jackfruit, salt and red chilli powder.<\/li>\n<li>Keep stirring till it turns brown and crispy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Sri Lanka we had rotti and tender jackfruit dry sabzi from a road side shack.
