I was not sure how the combination is going to be, but it was awesome. Usually he needs ketchup with fried rice, but he was so happy with the falafel, he didn\u2019t have the ketchup!<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-458 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fried-rice-falafel.jpg?resize=474%2C487&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"487\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fried-rice-falafel.jpg?w=1218&amp;ssl=1 1218w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fried-rice-falafel.jpg?resize=292%2C300&amp;ssl=1 292w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fried-rice-falafel.jpg?resize=997%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 997w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Fried rice<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2 cups cooked rice<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup cut cabbage<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup green peas<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup sprouts<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup cut carrots<\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp pickled olives<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsps oil<\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp white vinegar<\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp soya sauce<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<h3>Instruction<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat the oil in a pan, add the green peas and cut carrot. Keep the flame high and keep stirring the vegetables for about half a minute<\/li>\n<li>Now add the sprouts, then the cabbage. You need to stir continuously and let the vegetables cook on high flame. When they are cooked, but still crunchy, reduce the flame.<\/li>\n<li>Add the soya sauce, vinegar and then the rice and salt. Mix well and remove from the fire. Now mix in the olives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Falafel<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-459\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Falafel.jpg?resize=300%2C251&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"251\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Falafel.jpg?resize=300%2C251&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Falafel.jpg?resize=1024%2C858&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Falafel.jpg?w=1719&amp;ssl=1 1719w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Falafel.jpg?w=948&amp;ssl=1 948w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/Falafel.jpg?w=1422&amp;ssl=1 1422w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1 cup Bengal gram or chick peas, soaked overnight and drained<\/p>\n<p>1 onion cut into small pieces<\/p>\n<p>4 cloves of garlic<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp jeera (cumin)<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp turmeric powder<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp red chilli powder<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp coriander powder<\/p>\n<p>8 black pepper corns<\/p>\n<p>\u00bc tsp cardamom powder<\/p>\n<p>Salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Oil for frying<\/p>\n<h3>Instruction<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Put the soaked, drained chick peas in a grinder and do pulse grinding twice.<\/li>\n<li>Add all other ingredients and grind, it should not become a paste, but slightly rough in consistency. I did this in the morning and had to prepare the falafel for lunch, so I kept the ground mix in the refrigerator for about three hours.<\/li>\n<li>Heat oil in a kadai. When it starts smoking, keep the flame medium.<\/li>\n<li>Take a small quantity of the chick pea mix in your palm, squeeze it and remove any excess water, roll into a ball and lightly flatten it.<\/li>\n<li>Gently slip it into the hot oil and deep fry, turning it upside down, to cook from both sides. You have to slip it into the oil carefully, or it may break.<\/li>\n<li>It still it breaks, you can mix in a small amount of flour for better binding.
