Just the name would put me off. I couldn&#8217;t imagine how such a sour thing could made a nice dessert. Oh, how wrong I was.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The tang balances the sweetness just right, and this melt-in-your-mouth dessert if going to have you pop one after another. Don&#8217;t make if you&#8217;re on a diet!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"left\">Preparation time : 1 hour<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Makes about 16 bars<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Ingredients: <\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Crust<\/strong><i>:<\/i><br \/>\n1\u00bc cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n\u00bc cup confectioner&#8217;s sugar or powdered sugar<br \/>\n\u00bd cup butter, softened<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Filling<i>:<\/i><\/strong><br \/>\n3 eggs<br \/>\n1 cup white sugar<br \/>\n1\/3 cup lemon juice<br \/>\n2 tsp lemon zest<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Method:<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Preheat the oven to\u00a0180\u00b0C\/ 350\u00b0F.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mix 1 cup flour and confectioner&#8217;s sugar together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cut in the butter and mix well until the dough resembles a pie dough.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Press the dough into a 5&#215;10 inch baking pan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Beat eggs and sugar together, and fold in the remaining flour, lemon juice and lemon rind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour the mixture over the baked crust and bake another 10-15 min, until the lemon topping has set.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once cool, sprinkle with confectioner&#8217;s sugar, cut into bars and serve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been reading and hearing about lemon bars for a long, long time.
