Maybe they do, just not in his town, who knows. But it makes me wonder if one of my favorite Chinese desserts &#8211; sesame honey noodles, is also an Indian invention like much of our &#8216;Chinese&#8217; food.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I don&#8217;t know why I&#8217;m talking about China in a Thai recipe post.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I was looking to make dessert along with Thai curry rice one day many years ago, which is when I discovered this dish. I know it looks a bit boring, but if you are a coconut milk lover like me, then it is beyond divine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Traditionally, they use small bananas, or pumpkin, sweet potato or taro in this dish. I like to make it with Kerala banana (of the banana chips fame) called\u00a0<em>nenthra-pazham (\u0d28\u0d47\u0d28\u0d4d\u0d24\u0d4d\u0d30\u0d2a\u0d34\u0d02)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Time Taken: 10 min<br \/>\nServes: 4<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ingredients:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2 cups bananas, chopped into bite-sized pieces<br \/>\n\u00bd cup grated palm sugar (can substitute with\u00a0jaggery or molasses)<br \/>\n2 cups thick coconut milk<br \/>\n2 pandanus leaves &#8211; optional<br \/>\na pinch of salt<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Method:<\/h3>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-128\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC7741.jpg?resize=474%2C314&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"314\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC7741.jpg?resize=1024%2C678&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC7741.jpg?resize=300%2C199&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC7741.jpg?w=1200&amp;ssl=1 1200w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ashwita.com\/food\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DSC7741.jpg?w=948&amp;ssl=1 948w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><br \/>\nPlace the banana in a cup of water and bring to a boil.
